Norwegian and SWISS have both made announcements on new routes this week.
The new route by Norwegian is nearly half way around the world from its Gatwick hub in London to the Changi Airport the Far East city of Singapore.
The maiden journey of this new route takes to the sky on September 28th later this year. During the summer months, this route will be on the schedule 4 times a week. During the busy winter months an additional weekly flight will be added to the schedule for this non-stop flight.
The exact dates and departure times have not yet been released but the type of aircraft has along with the costs. Norwegian will be acquiring a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for this new route.
There are 35 seats in Premium Economy that are 19” wide in a 2 x 3 x 2 row configuration. The cost of a seat in premium economy is $895 USD. These passengers will also be given free access to the No1 lounge of Norwegian in Gatwick’s terminal.
The remaining seats are in economy class and on sale now for only $230 USD. These seats are 17 1/6th” wide and are in a 3 x 3 x 3 row configuration.
The new SWISS route is from Heathrow in London to Sion in the Southwest region of Switzerland. At this time this new route is only on the schedule for Saturday departures in February 2018. The departure times out of London are at either 10:30 am or 11:40 am. This is a direct flight.
The aircraft for this seasonal route is an Embraer 190. There are a total of 112 seats that are 18” wide. This is an all economy class aircraft set in a 2 x 2 row configuration.
